Trail recovery progress update #1

We’re delighted to say that after our first month of recovery works on the Wingello mountain bike trails, we’ve completed our first pass through Tangles, Genesis and Princess’s Revenge, and commenced on Everglades, with Flinging Scotsman and Cover Shot to follow.

We’ve identified a number of larger fallen trees and ‘hang-ups’ that Forestry Corporation of NSW will assist us with removing, and several minor trail deviations that we’re seeking approval to construct to avoid large fallen trees or previously eroding sections of trail.

Once Forestry Corporation have assisted us with these items, we’ll be able to return to Tangles, Genesis and Princess’s Revenge for the second pass, when we’ll construct the deviations and undertake localised trail repair works.

We couldn’t have done this without the fantastic volunteer support to date, and we look forward to welcoming more of you to assist with the ongoing trail recovery works over the coming months. We’ve already scheduled working bees for each Sunday through July and August - you can choose your preferred date and register here - look forward to seeing you out on the trails with us.
